South Korea’s much-hyped robot park finally breaks ground

Incheon Robot LandRobots everywhere  rejoice.

Robot land, an hour west of Seoul, has finally broken ground. The $620 million, 190 acre robot-theme park was supposed to start construction in 2009, but financing issues got in the way.

It’s now scheduled to open in 2015 in the coastal city of Incheon. It will showcase all things robot, including a post-grad robotics school,  a robotics institute, a Robot Kingdom, a Robot City,  a Kidbot Village, robot-themed restaurants, robot parades and even some sort of robot waterslide (though conventional wisdom would suggest that may not be such a good match.)
